QuesCom, the European voice and data specialist, today
announced that Inmarsat Limited, the Total Communications
Network™, has selected the QuesCom 400 to provide the
company with a cost-effective, efficient and customer-focused
call handling strategy.
Inmarsat is the world's leading mobile satellite communications
company, formed over 23 years ago. Inmarsat serves a
broad range of markets providing reliable connectivity
for businesses operating on land, at sea and in the
air. Its network of satellites provides voice telephony,
fax and data communications at up to 144 kbit/s to more
than 290,000 ship, vehicle, aircraft and portable terminals
- including those belonging to the BBC and other major
international newswires.
Inmarsat's growth has been carefully managed - nowhere
is this more apparent than in the expansion plans set
out to ensure the development of the company's communications
network in such as way as to not compromise its high
standards of customer service. The QuesCom 400 sits
at the heart of this strategy, providing a voice direction
facility that automatically routes calls to the four
most frequently contacted departments at its London
headquarters - Human Resources, Corporate Communications,
Customer Services and Accounts Payable. This provides
Inmarsat with increased switchboard efficiency, and
ensures the majority of incoming calls are answered
directly by appropriate departments, instead of being
connected by the reception team.
The QuesCom 400 therefore ensures fast and efficient
responses to customer queries can be maintained, even
at peak hours. It also plays a significant role in reducing
Inmarsat's overheads, by decreasing reliance on expensive
temporary staff that would otherwise have to be engaged.
Andrew Deaville, Security & Business Continuity Manager,
Inmarsat explains: "It was imperative that QuesCom's
offering integrated seamlessly with our newly installed
comms infrastructure - including Ericcson's MD110 Communications
Solution. The QuesCom 400 answered the need for a product
that could be fitted quickly, keeping disruption to
the business at an absolute minimum, and could be scaled
to meet our communications needs now and in the future.
We were also impressed with the value for money provided
by the solution and the full commitment we received
from QuesCom at each stage of the project."
Teddy Théanne, UK Country Manager for QuesCom comments:
"We are pleased to have provided Inmarsat with a
solution that will allow the company to grow its communications
networks at its own pace, and in line with its business
requirements. The installation was completed on time
and within the budget, which is a tribute to the hard
work put in by DV02, our installer partner, from the
planning stages right through to the time that the solution
went live on the network."
