QuesCom SMS functions
1. Manual - VPD
QuesCom Virtual Printer Driver (VPD) is a local application installed in the Taskbar of a Windows desktop.
It opens a window to enter mobile phone numbers and message to be send out.
VPD installation can be automatically deployed using Microsoft Active Directory Server.
2. Manual - Microsoft Outlook
The SMS are sent either via the Virtual Printer Driver (VPD – a QuesCom application installed on a Microsoft Windows PC) or via a Microsoft Outlook plug-in. You can then benefit from the address book.

3. Automatic – email to SMS

QuesCom solution also allows to automatically send an SMS when receiving an preformatted email.
You need to format your e-mail using SMTP protocol, it should be formatted to deliver information such as user ID and a password, destination number…
Example of SMTP message:
MAIL FROM: MyCompany
RCPT TO: gateway@ MyCompany.com
DATA
SUBJECT: Goods delivery
CallerID = user ID
PASSWORD = password
SMS = Recipient’s number
TEXT= Dear Sir, delivery of your products will be done until Thursday- the 9th of May. Best regards
QUIT
4. Automatic – HTTP to SMS
There is also possibility to create an HTML link.
You need to identify a series of parameters: your name, your password, the number you are calling from, the number you are going to reach and a text of your SMS message in an URL link.

5. Automatic – Mail List Controller
MailList Controller is a standard email mailing tool. Available on www.arclab.com Configured in a proper way it can be used in coordination with QuesCom SMS server to broadcast SMS.

6. From any email client, using T.37 addresses
As mail
The user can send a SMS from any email client (like Microsoft Outlook) with:
- T.37 address in the ‘To’ field
- The SMS text into the body of the email.
‘To’ format
T.37 address can be:
- SMS=+336xxxxx@domain
- SMS=06xxxxx@domain
- +336xxxxx@sms.domain
- 06xxxxx@sms.domain
- SMS=+336xxxxx@192.168.1.1
- SMS=06xxxxx@192.168.1.1
Where ‘domain’ or ‘sms.domain’ must be resolved by a DNS server to the IP address of the QuesCom Gateway.
Flash SMS support
Flash SMS are displayed automatically to the mobile phone user. It pops up the message on the mobile phone screen as soon as arrived. Emails with the importance flag set to ‘high’ will deliver Flash SMS.
7. Incoming SMS
QuesCom GSM gateway can receive SMS messages. They are transferred into an e-mail.
Each GSM channel has its own e-mail address. As soon as an SMS arrives, it is transformed into an e-mail and sent to the user’s mail box.
7. Licensing
Sending SMS requires 1 licence for each user.
